Let me tell you a tale
A small tale
Insignificant and inferior
Against the rest of the world
But a tale nonetheless
Late one night
Half asleep
Eyes almost closed
Mind halfway dreaming
Of whatever the mind
Dreams night after night
Speaking to a friend
About this and that
And that and this
Nonsense mostly
With sprinkles of truth
A question asked
The mind tried to grasp
Do you promise
Promise what
A promise is hard to keep
That promise was impossible
So it was twisted
And re-arranged
Impossible became possible
I made that promise
And intend to keep it
I'll always try
To do what I said I would
And I do it because
Thats the person I am
So respect
And remember
It was you
Who let it slip
