The dead await alive
Waiting for the final drive
To the place we will one day
Call our very own
A place we will love like home
The tunnel is stretched
And it is after the end
Through star studded skies
Around that final bend
That we shall find peace
The dead await alive
Never really gone
Simply removed
And waiting for us to come
To the dinner table
And take our seats
But for now while they wait
We sit here, and make choices
Some good, some grave mistakes
Ignoring the obvious voices
Calling for us to think
Before we are out to sea
Where there is no way out
But to surrender and sink
The dead await alive
For us to join them in life
And rejoice and remember
That today is today
And tomorrow is tomorrow
We live it for the now
And to simply taste
The world that is here
Before it goes to waste
The only real test
Of wits and our will
Will we go forth and survive
The dead await alive
