Mother

To my mother
How I love you so
And it breaks this childs heart
That I am not there
You were there from the start
You birthed me, raised me
You fed me, bathed me
Taught me what was right
Kept me from what was evil
How I love you so
You are everything and more
And you gave me everything
I can only hope
Someday I will return the favor
And I am sorry
For all the pain and tears
I may have caused
Rebellious and stupid I was
But I see now
You are what I adore
How I love you so
Mother may I
Say that, you are the world
And I shall never forget it
One day I shall return home
To take you home
My home will be yours
How I love you so

The prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was once asked who amongst us deserved the most care and respect. To this he replied, "Your mother." He was asked then, whom after that. He once again said, "Your mother." He was asked again. And once again he gave the same answer. "Your mother."

I may have lost faith in the religion that bore me, but I do not disagree with this.

And I think I shall send my mother this.
