I am Nietzsche

I am Nietzsche

I see the tragedy of the Greeks as true beauty within
the written poetry and plays meant to illuminate
their world views as an artistic representation
mirrored in the worship of a pantheon of invention

I am Nietzsche

I see the earth as simply a planet in space
existing on its own axis, above and beyond
human terms given to it, restricting it, attempting to tame it
through language and meaning that the universe ignores

I am Nietzsche

I see society crumbling and corrupted by a beast,
the three headed dragon of philosophy, religion, and science
attempting to spew falsehoods and foolishness
trying to define a truth that can never truly exist

I am Nietzsche

I see the struggles of our inner and outer selves
as a war within the mind to understand and decode
the mundane and insignificant as something true
and so we accept the labels given to us as absolutes

I am Nietzsche

I see this as simply one story out of many stories
a tale woven through careful reflection and gradual
madness into the depths of a web woven of deceit
realizing that the ancient world laughs at our ignorance

I am Nietzsche

I see these things as I write, flickering pen to paper
wondering if any of you have the strength to break free
of these shackles and live a lifestyle worthy of heroic praise
until we face the only thing that is certain; our mortality as men

I am Nietzsche
