The Anthem

Through a fluorescent archway we follow
and we climb onto the back of a pegasus
and descend into the underbelly of madness

in the darkness there is light
pulsing, flashing, changing
that thrives from tens of thousands
of flawed mortals breathing

here we climb off the back of such a fantasy
and dive straight into the insanity
The sounds of pulsing music and musicians

we are lost now for an eternity
that has broken free from barriers
of our own minds
and the rules of father time

we dream for the dreamers
for the healers, the preachers
the seekers, the weepers,
the teachers, the fighters, the lovers
the sons, the daughters,
the fathers, the mothers
the nomads, the strangers
under the madness we are together

We are the darkness where there is dawn
we are the dawn where there is dark
we are the desired and the despaired
we are the dreamers

The definition of this chaotic perfection
rattles us from the chains wrapped
around our spines
and they snap
with the force of our movements
intertwined with the presence
of wind whispered beauty

No longer innocent,
but no longer corrupt
We are free of the ocean’s depths
and trapped in the pools of amber;
an energy that has unleashed its silhouette
upon the faces of twin moons

We are the Greek tragedies
we are the mental warriors
we are the mortals
we are the musicians
we are the poets

this is simply a moment
a single droplet out of an anthem
that resides deep in our dreams
that has defined us
in the faces of gentle giants
and surreal lullabies

When shall we return?

Hello Sajjad,

I am not sure how I landed on your blogger page but I am immensely pleased that I did; having too often forgotten the power, beauty and the countless emotions that lay inside the written word. Thank you for reminding me.

All the best,
Peter
