The (Un)Just City

It is a city hidden in the hills
a city of justice and just souls
created from the labor of the rich and educated
to serve the people and better their lives

Founded on morality and the truth
This city is a beacon of hope
For those who have lost their way
Thriving under the combined efforts
Of all who reside within her walls

Ruled by the philosopher king
tutored under the Socratic way
this city is run to create a perfect order
that the tragedies would call an illusion
but Socrates would call the truth

Or so they say

Because although this city seems just
It is indeed corrupt, and crippled
hidden behind a veil of power
And control, that seeks to destroy
The passions of those who built it
