Have you ever looked in the mirror?
Seen the reflection- given it true attention?
Do you notice now what it really is?
The face of an imperfect perfection
The angry stares, the playful glares
The whisperings of your hair
The sadness, the confused look
That I can read like a detailed book
Your eyes are intense- the fire!
As they watch me move about
Diamonds hidden in the rough
Revealing your buried true beauty
Are you chained into comfortable cuffs?
Hidden by layers of internal secrets?
Kept in the bottomless abyss?
Next to eternal sunsets that'll be missed
Your face, has anyone ever told you?
That it sometimes glows- ever so bright
A calling- you are not lost- follow the lights
But you do not stay- you duck- out of sight
The will is there- let it meet your might
A mouth that speaks such simple truths
Lips, pouring water from the fountain of youth
Oh, so young, so many more years to live
And you no doubt, have so much to give
Have you ever looked in the mirror?
Seen the reflection- given it true attention?
Do you notice what is really there?
An earthly angel, an imperfect perfection

I am glad you find an earthly angel in the reflection. I can personally relate to that. I really appreciate this poem. It has a subtle yet bold sharing of thoughts.
