Trials Seen Through Black and White Pictures

We all got heartache, but this is something new
a strain on my heart
caused by this test God is putting me through.
Bring it on I say
we all got to feel this sort of pain one day
I guess I am sort of blessed
to get it out of the way a bit earlier
than I had originally planned.

So all I can do is sit back and listen
to the music as it weeps alongside me, freely
I watch open eyes, burning bright like a bulb about to burst,
but they are lost there is no recognition
of the familiar face
that sits in the fields of vision, gently praying.

These are the trials of the deepest kind,
a test of devotion in what life has to offer.
So we count our blessings like chickens in the yard
pecking away at shattered bits
of burning lovers as they are reduced to embers.

Open windows to the chambers of a childlike questioning.
It will be okay in the end,
at least that’s what the movies teach us.
That’s what the music yearns for us to hear
Introspection, in the most painful of ways,
Isn't the healthiest of cards sometimes found
in a deck of disastrous decay?

I’d have to nod with the beat to this one,
and channel the pain
into some sort of extensive understanding.
Walk with me my friends,
try and feel the mist of the ocean rise to the moon
give you that vision of aged promises,
and sought out paradises
that have left it all bittersweetly divine.

Such an old piece, but so relevant to my life at the moment.
