Supernova, the sun just exploded
damn, where were we this entire time?
these moments they feel so profound
retracing steps in the sand
to the edge of our promises
put forth to protect
shades of gray
Moments are powerful when we pay heed
the search for new born stars
sifting through a bowl of petty change
looking for that shiny penny
sparkling between dirty fingers
Supernova, the sun just exploded
but, why should we let ourselves go blind?
so throw on some dark shades
and look out into the orange sky
to see a moon weeping
for the answers to love's test
that can only be answered with time
Darling, study salty tears
as they trickle into old and new wounds
rifts between roses are simply poison
and all poisons have an antitode
even if you got to find it yourself
Thank you Geeg, for inspiring me to write this. My first poem in quite some time. I don't even know what it truly means.
