Holy Mountains

Can you see the path to the peak
of this mighty beast that stands
here mocking you, taunting you
to climb to the top of self-reflection?

This here is a holy mountain
hidden in the thickness of the fog
for ten thousand years or more
only to be found when needed

Can you see the fireflowers
that grow up the snow covered slopes
pushing through the fresh powder
to the reach out to the world?

This here is a holy mountain
cared for by mystical monks
that have not spoken a word
waiting for their slavation

Can you see the falcon as he climbs
the updraft, towards the top
so that he may clear triple peaks
of anger, hurt, and perilous situations?

This here is a holy mountain
raised from the ocean bed by titans
who ruled over men with iron fists
forged through ancient legends

Can you see the top of the world
as you stand at the highest point
before being thrown out into empty space
so that you may respect, and understand?
